Wool in self is very wide term. You may see the details which says 100% wool rugs. This means that the woollen yarn should have 100 woolen fiber without nylon or any other mix.


For handtufted rugs these wool or even blended wool are considered to be best because the construction of hand tufted, the look comes great in case when we use the wool as pile material as compared to polyester or acrylic.


The colour, the weaving effect comes nice in case of woolen hand tufted rugs and carpets.


The best to best part is that these are also flame retardant (FR). This is the biggest advantage of wool rugs in hand tufted.

HAND-TUFTED CARPET SPECIFICATIONS : 

When there is any requirement for hand tufted carpets and rugs arises for any project or any demand for custom, there are different specifications specified for each areas or say each project.

Most common specifications are as under :

1. ITEM : Hand-tufted  carpets

2. Pile material : 80% wool : 20% Nylon

3. Pile height : 10mm

4. Quality : 2500-2800 gms psm

When we say 80% wool, as per the demand it may be newzealand wool or may be blended of indian and newzealand mix wool.
